
Welcome to Breathin’ with Stephen, where the breath is used as the driving force to elevate what needs to be felt through somatic expressions to alchemize + heal what no longer serves. After enough expression occurs you’ll have the nervous system capacity to consciously choose your state at any given moment – to activate or to relax. What is Somatic Breathwork?

We live in a stressful world which comes with pressure – pressure that’s put on us by the external and often times, pressure that we each put on ourselves. If that pressure’s left unchecked, this can lead to dis-ease, and if chronically left unchecked, to even worse.
Somatic Breathwork ™ is designed to use your breath as the driving force to release any suppressed pressure, stress or trauma with deep, circular mouth breathing for the first half of a breathwork session (or sometimes referred to as a Journey). This circular conscious breathing will most likely lead to experiencing somatic expressions (via your voice and/or movements) and potentially accessing non-ordinary states of consciousness (visions, connection with your higher self/Source, insights, etc).
During the second half of a session, the deep, circular breathing pattern is still present but gentler – sending signals of safety and deep relaxation to your nervous system with inhales through the nose and elongated exhales. Along with the space you created in the first half – releasing blockages, stressors, physical pains, etc – the second half of the session can enable expanded access to states of elevated emotion; more of what you want to feel because that’s what we really want – freedom, joy, peace, love, and more – not things.
As you heal and signal safety to your nervous system by releasing what no longer serves you, your inner light will shine brighter – and in time, your outer world will reflect the wholeness you’ve reclaimed.
